"An unusually attractive country house"

Ballyrafter Country House Hotel Accommodation in Lismore Ireland

Along the cliffs and coast of County Waterford Ireland   Along the Sea to the Crystal City

The nearby sea coast is quite as spectacular as any in Ireland - without the hordes of tourists! Beaches, heritage sites, high sea cliffs - Waterford has them all.

Ardmore Round Tower and ancient Cathedral   For example, there is the ancient village of Ardmore with its spectacular Round Tower and sculptures from around the ninth century. Ardmore was a recent National Tidy Town winner and its huge bay of sandy beaches and cliff walks widely beckons.
County Waterford beaches   Large stretches of the local coast are protected bird sanctuaries. Waterford County also harbours Ireland's densest profusion of iron age fortified peninsulas. Avoid the cow pats and the occasional bull and you have these ancient heritage sites to yourself.
Looking along the coast of County Waterford Ireland   The tall sea cliffs and tiny villages and inlets of the coast hide wave sculpted coves that are ideal for a swim or just a quiet explore. As well, there are several licensed Charter Boats available for fishing and diving and also scenic excursions.
The lovely light along the sea coast and sea cliffs of Waterford Ireland   You can walk along the wildlands overlooking the sea. The sparkles on the sea, the cry of seabirds, the long lonely stretches shared only with cows - it really is a sea lover's paradise.
Glass making at Waterford Crystal

An hour's drive along the coast road brings you to Waterford, the Crystal City. You can visit the Waterford Crystal plant and watch the glass being blown and cut. The hot furnaces where the glass is melted and the skills of the glass blowers and cutters are all on display. The Showrooms are a veritable museum of glass with dozens of unique and one of a kind crystal pieces. Here, you can order and ship home any items in the huge range of products.

We're happy to book a reservation for you to tour the plant.
