Lismore was the home of the Earls of Cork - most memorably the "Bachelor Duke" of Devonshire. In the early 1800's he was the richest man in England and he lavished his funds on Lismore Castle.

You can visit the Castle's garden and grounds, or play a round of golf on the course which winds about its buttresses.
